📚 About CVI

The CVI is used to evaluate how well the items in a tool or questionnaire represent the construct they are intended to measure. By gathering expert ratings on the relevance of each item, the CVI provides a numerical measure of agreement, ensuring that the tool has strong content coverage and is conceptually sound. A higher CVI means stronger consensus that the items are appropriate and accurately reflect the intended domain. Beyond being a statistical indicator, the CVI plays a crucial role in refining tools before they are used in practice or research. It helps developers identify weak or irrelevant items that may reduce the accuracy of measurement, while retaining items that add value. This process increases the reliability of the instrument and enhances its acceptance among both experts and end-users.
